Mid-Life Crisis has just released its first video
from the Fine Art Center's 10th Anniversary Celebration held on April
19 at the Center. The band was accompanied by orchestra and choir from
Forest Hills Central, Eastern and Northern High Schools. It also features
a solo dance interpretation by Forest Hills Northern Senior Michael
Aaberg. The orchestra and choir scoring was done as a unique collaboration
project between the schools' music, choir and dance departments for
The song was written by MLC pianist Kevin Paul and has become an ode to all fathers, and is a favorite for many of the fans. Kevin wrote "My Father's Shoes" for his dad's 80th birthday celebration, drawing from his childhood memories and his perspectives on fatherhood, which evolved as he grew up.
The band had a request to release it as a video Father's Day Card to share with families and to celebrate all of our Dads, both living and in memory.
Mid-Life Crisis presents "My Father's Shoes"
We hope you had the opportunity to experience the excitement of one or more of our amazing shows this past season! It was a year-long celebration of the Center, with our professional series, exhibits, student and community events, and other special events. With a line-up that included some of music’s most inspiring singer/songwriters, musicals that bring us pop-culture favorites, and a repeat performance from subscriber favorite, Naturally 7, you couldn’t ask for anything more. This special season culminated with our 10th Anniversary Celebration in April featuring local favorite band, Mid-Life Crisis, along with Forest Hills student performers highlighting all of our previous seasons.
Our next season will be announced in July 2014 with
season renewals that same month and season ticket sales to the public
starting in August. We hope you will consider becoming a season subscriber
if you're not one already!

The Forest Hills Public Schools Fine Arts Center (FAC) was created to enhance the artistic growth and enjoyment of area youth, families and community members. This year we continue to support our mission by working with a local organization that supports the arts and families. Our 2013-2014 Community Partner reflects the caring community we live in by providing valuable services to individuals, families, and all of West Michigan. We want to introduce this incredible organization to you throughout the season and hope that by partnering with them, we can share in the common goal of making our community a better place to live in.
Access of West Michigan
Celebrating the activity of God in our midst, the mission of Access of West Michigan is to be a faith-based leader in linking congregational, individual, and community resources to eliminate hunger and reduce the impact of poverty in Kent County.
Access of West Michigan was started in 1981 as a response to cutbacks in federal government social programs. With an increasing number of people turning to churches for help, local congregations saw the necessity for collaboration and coordination of faith-based and secular response to need. Today, Access is working harder than ever, administering vital programs that range from the annual Access Hunger Walk and County Wide Food Drive, to coordinating a network of over 75 local food pantries, mobilizing congregations' responses to emergency needs and educating the community on the realities of poverty.
